so there is some place in bmw that refers to a note symbol that now refers to a arrow or star as you describe. There also seems to be something wrong with the template. Thanks for the update on windows 7
I guess I will be able to upgrade. You can slow down tunes in Bagpipe writer by the way, if you open a tune and go to configure, and then change the tempo in play options. It is not pretty, but it works.

I got this for Fathersday, and it is a pretty good book. The tunes are not that complex, but they are a lot of fun to play, and they do give you the sense that you are playing a different kind of music. I don't know that I will ever play more than ten tunes in the book, but the ones I am playing now...
