DIRTY RICE 'N HAGGIS (Jig-Stomp)
The high A's are more or less rests, in the fashion that has been popular in piping for some years now. Thus this tune won't sound quite right on the practice chanter, and requires a nicely tuned set for the melody to come out. I composed this for the Hurricane victims of the Gulf Coast of the Unite...

Well, my side of the Fertile Crescent isn't really "belly-dance country." I was thinking more of the spontaneous expressions of faith as done in dance, maybe at weddings, or when someone experiences what they are certain was a miracle. Besides, with the epidemic in youthful obesity these days, even ...

The dancing to which this tune refers was one of "spontaneous joy," as oppossed to something correographed. The beat structure might be more typical of the eastern Med, than modern Highland dance. (Though I wonder sometimes how much conformity, Calvinism and competition have done to native Highland ...

Oregon National Guard Reserve Pipe Band, 1981 0r 1982
The Oregon National Guard Reserve Pipe Band is now called The Oregon State Defense Forces Pipe Band . I am in this photo, as is my future wife (the blonde dancer standing on the far left). I was in the middle of an overly-long process of getting a BSc. at the time in Eugene, Oregon. The members wer...

King David's Dance
Named after one of our more famous Kings, for his spontaneous dance before the Ark of the Covenant on its way up the mountain to be returned to Jerusalem.

A great old tune given a new lease on life. I'd bet that quite a few of the nice, strong melodies among the classic 4- and 6-part marches would make good hornpipes (or as my Irish music-playing friends would say about the rounded style, good reels ). Amazing what a few shots of collagen can do for a...

Now my listener's appetite is whetted! Do you have a "save as" option, wherein a graphic version can be selected, with your programme, as does BMW GOLD?

THE RATCATCHER'S JIG
I am thinking of the feline variety, and not the human one once found in the employ of municipal hygiene departments. Either way--a jig. Please enjoy.

FAREWELL TO CHERBOURG (Hornpipe)
What does a country do when it has, at great expense, designed a line of state-of-the-art naval vessels, made a contractual agreement with the shipyards of a foreign power to build them, and paid in full for those naval vessels, and the other country decides, after the boats have been built, not onl...

Graphic file??
Can you send up a *.gif for us? I don't have your software, and I hate to see a new tune listed that I can't look at. Who knows, I might be missing the tune of the century!
Thanks,
