Dundee Piper, It is always hard, perhaps impossible, to know what goes on with one's tunes once they are released into the ether. I have a jig, 'Round Cnaidhl Loch, with 2200+ hits on this site, and not one comment. I'm with you about wanting comments, but I guess it is up to the downloaders to do a...

Nameless slow air
Inspired partly by my summer trip to the Orkney Isles, and partly by other things.
I just can't come up with a name. Somebody wants to suggest one, I'm open.
Played VERY slowly.
Thanks,
-David.

The Slackbuie Roundabout
A light and traditional hornpipe inspired by a busy day in Inverness when for reasons unbeknownst to me I must have passed through the Slackbuie roundabout a dozens time in various cab rides. The cabbies were scrupulously honest, so I wasn't being "taken for a ride" I'm sure. All fares on that busy ...

Drawing of Old Sinclair Pipes
My wife did this while I was away on a business trip about 20 years ago. Done with artist's quality wax colour pencils. The proportions on the bass drone are not perfect, but, these are my old Sinclair pipes, and I am fond of the work.

All those G gracenotes--are they what you intended? They need to be fixed on an actual note, as one cannot go from G gracenote to G gracenote all by its lonesome. Do you intend some kind of long trilling effect? Since you have played the tune, and it was no doubt received well by your close friends,...

OVER THE TOP -- A Fast Reel
OVER THE TOP
A new reel, or perhaps hornreel.
On a fast reel I like to repeat the eight-bar parts.
Hope someone out there will enjoy this.

My new GELLAITRY pipes -- boxwood mounts w/silver slides
Here's a new, but as yet rare brand from Stirling. Craftsmanship is superb, and tone is full-volume but very refined. Tim Gellaitry learned pipe making from Willie Sinclair, where he worked for many years. Now I have to decide between my Sinclair ivories, or my Gellaitry boxwood and silvers. What a ...

Quite effective in the right hands, or should I say, fingers. While I love the traditional stuff, I also like to see some efforts toward showmanship and innovation, too. This rhythmical piece would go well followed by a nice, melodically strong 2/4 march. You do play it at this speed?? I enjoyed it!...

An Druma Mhor -- a new 6/8 march
Composed for the first bass drum purchased by the Israel Pipes & Drums. Don't know if this tune is going to shake the foundations of the piping world, but it feels good on the fingers, and is meant to feature the bass drummer's handiwork. The two low Gs near the end of each line are imitations of th...

Nice set of jigs you have posted here--but I really like The Finger Screw. It is perfect as well for any neat and clean small pipes player. The embellishments suggest a slower jig--much as you have done here in this bww file. Tunes like this would make a lot of pipers wish they'd learned piobaireach...
