Paddy's Green Shamrock Shores

An experiment. Written with Piobmaster, imported into Celtic Pipes, then exported to BWW.

Thanks for transcribing this LP. I've tried to get to grips with writing in BMW, but I'm just too slow with it. Although I HAVE been looking at Celtic Pipes, and it seems it can import from Piobmaster, then export into BMW. It might be worth the money just for that facility alone. I'll download a co...

Tripping up the Stairs

Heard this on the radio the other day, just as I was playing about with Piobmaster. I've never been sure if it was traditional or not, but seems it is. So here it is in Piobmaster format.

Don't you Marines have your own Pipe Band? I'm sure I've seen a newsletter a few years ago. Would it be possible to have one of those guys available to play at a moment's notice? Or are there just too few members?

Sadly, I think there will be a need for some considerable time to come.

Corrected somewhat. Although the subject matter sticks in my throat somewhat, I would hope that we're all adult enough here to leave our differences outside the forum.

Would that be Tom McAllister, of Shotts fame? And would that mean this is not a public domain tune?

I'll try to find out who arranged it for our band, and see if I can get any more info.

HAHA. Yes, I did sound somewhat abrupt, didn't I? Sorry. :D

I do think the format's popularity is down to the fact that certain software is easily accessible for free though. But I guess this is not the place to debate the rights or wrongs.

Morag of Dunvegan with 2nds and 3rds

I seem to remember there being seconds for this tune. If I can't find them anywhere, I'll have a go at arranging them myself. If I can remember how they go. ;)

Nameless

Now, this is a difficult one. Nameless would appear to be quite a common name for a tune, and understandably so. So it is incredibly difficult to trace where a particular tune with this name would be from, who composed it and when etc. But this is the first tune in our set from many moons ago when I...

Yes, in Piobmaster you simply go to file - import, and select the BWW file you wish to convert. You may find that some grouped cut notes are cut again. But if you go to Tools - Options, and make sure the Halve Note Value When Grouped box is unticked, when you close the prompt, the problem will be so...

OK, VP thinks he's sorted the posting problem so I'll have another go.

Fingers crossed. Here's (hopefully) Stu's tune in Piobmaster format.

Vista problems

If you have upgraded to Vista, and find that once you have re-installed your engraving software you no longer have access to the HELP link in the software, there is a way to remedy this. Microsoft no longer bundled with new versions of their operating systems, starting with Vista. The link below exp...
