A photo of old pipe music written in words from the Piping Museum in the National Piping Centre, Glasgow. Well worth a visit. Found it really interesting and the staff are very helpful. You can imagine the pipers of old singing this out loud learning the tunes.

Good old Caintroch - we had to sing it at a clinic I attended last summer. Apparently that's how it was written out in ancient times, pipers knew what each sound represented and there was no sheet music, just phrasing in Caintroch.

Yes, I have also seen and heard this before, a very beautiful and eerie sound when a whole band is singing. btw, correct spelling is Canntaireachd ....just as hard to remember as the piping version eh :roll:
