A 1st Class Commanding Officer

A wee Spiel about this Tune.
It was written in the 60's for a Scots Guards Tune Competition.
It didnt win but was placed second..Pattersons Publication who have the Rights to
the Scots Guards Book 1 decided they couldn't Publish two Tunes so the wining tune
'The New Military Tattoo' by Matt Davit was published. Its a nice 6/8 March
The Interesting thing about it is the fact that Angus MacDonalds Father who was then a
( Piper ) Member of the Glasgow Police Pipe Band listened to all the Tunes, he told Angus that my Tune
was the most original he had heard and that was his winner. Angus revealed this to me some weeks later
I was pleased as punch to say the least. It was over twenty years before I attempted another Tune.

PPS. It was over Twenty Years before it got its present Name......
