I agree. I'm going to pass this out to my few hornpipe-playing students. This tune is very satisfying to play, with a nice balance between melody and rhythmical effect.

Not only good for a first tune, but also for one in full compositional flower.

Thanks for the tune!

Cheers for the replies! This is pretty much the first full tune i've written out. I've actually been playing for about 4 years now.

Cheers for giving it to your students David! :)

Thanks again for the comments.

Well Done

What a fantastic tune. 10/10. 4 years of piping and you come out with this! Amazing.

[/VERY nice tune, so much so that I am going to use it in our band repetoire. However, I modified it, so, instead of playing it round, I added holds to the first and third bars, and cuts on the second and fourth. (This may be a duplicate messsage.)]

I have a modified version of your tune with cuts and holds. I can't send it to you through this method, so if you reply to this I'll send you an attachment.

Keep it up!!

Hi Stu,

I have paired this tune up with my Night Train to Lydda recently posted here. I like to play your tune first, then go into mine. But either way can be good. See what you might think. I hope Burnin' becomes a classic someday. Write something that hangs around on the low G, B, D, high G.

Thanks,
-David.

The two tunes go together very well David. I must learn your's when I get a chance, great tune.

I'll have to get back into writing some more tunes soon, I haven't got a chance yet as I'm learning a lot a new stuff for the band.

Thanks
