JEDBURGH ABBEY

About thirty years Ago I took a trip on the Humber Scot bus line from Leeds to Edinburgh. After coming out of the mist in the hills of the boderlands, we stopped for a bit in Jedburgh. This was on a Sunday morning, so I had the town to myself. I walked toward the Abbey as if I had a destination, though I had not, and had never been to Jedburgh. I turned into a gate and the combination of flowers, lawn and ruins in absolute silence left me awe-struck. Alas, I had to return to my own dimension.

But I put this tune out into the ether to thank God for that incredible moment of solace.

A very slow slow air.
