The Glasgow Chinese Take-Away

A great place to find new tunes. If you have composed your own tune, you can upload it here to let other pipers learn it and perhaps get some feedback. PLEASE ONLY UPLOAD TUNES YOU HAVE COMPOSED YOURSELF OR HAVE EXPRESS PERMISION FROM THE COMPOSER TO DO SO.
Please only create a new topic in this forum if you are uploading a tune.

The Glasgow Chinese Take-Away

My tutor, although from Stirlingshire, lived for many years in Honolulu. Among other things, she used to play her pipes in the 1940s to help raise funds for her friend Sun Yat-Sen. She showed me a "pseudo-Chinese" way of composing, just for fun. Too much Peking Opera, or Tsing-Tsao lager, or whatever. I confess I grew up using chopsticks at home, too. So this tune is just for fun, but it really does work well as a pipe tune, too. Jam that chanter reed in like you're a Ghurka piper and you mean business. Play only a loud and raspy bass drone with it, and let's start raising money for the defense of Taiwan (joking!). It is hot here, so time for a little summer levity for us northern hemisphericals.
