Hey, folks.
Anyone used Celtic Pipes with Linux (Arch Linux in my case) and got it to work? Mine loads, but no editing window and no embellishment or sound toolbars.
If not able to suggest any fix, anyone using another bagpipe writing prog on a Linux OS machine.
Cheers,

On Yonder Hill
On yonder hill
there stood a coo.
It must've moved,
for it's no' there noo!
It didn't stay long enough for any more parts!

Well, hasn't the weather changed. Not to BAD weather, surely. What did it ever do to be BAD. It's just different weather, right? If it stayed the same we'd be moaning, just as we did when it's TOO HOT, then when we forget when we last had any heat. :? Thing is, be prepared - can you tell I'm from Sc...

Re: Winding Down.....Slow 18/8
Listening to this tune, the time signature doesn't fit. You have 7 groups in each bar, simple time. Not exactly sure what you intended, but the compound time lilt from crotchet and quaver in a beat just isn't there. 18/8 is 6 groups of dotted crotchet.

Re: Vapor Trail, slow air
Dan, like this one. Did you notice some of the gracenotes in the 2nd part have only one tail? I was perplexed by that for ages, but if you go for a melody note, a quaver say, when you have a gracenote highlighted, it changes the tails to the given melody note value. Doesn't effect the playback, just...

Recently, I have started to appreciate the finer qualities of the Single Malt. :P Not because I am a drinker of any merit, nor do I wish to be, but because apart from the odd beer - Leffe, Newcastle Brown and Hobgoblin- nothing really gives any justification for the buying or consumption, only servi...

Fred's Reel Pipes
After 40 years piping, I've got my first and probably only set of reel pipes (small pipes) in A. I am still sorting out the co-ordination of the bellows arm, but it's ealry doors - give a bloke a chance - but after 3 days I can safely say I will be able to master the technique, even if it's to be ab...

The Truce at Garlabank
In June 1559, following the Reformation riots at Perth, the French troops were marching towards St. Andrews from Falkland in Fife. On 13 June a Protestant force of 3,000, led by Lord James, Lord Ruthven, the Earl of Rothes, the Lothian lairds of Ormiston, Calder, Haltoun, Restalrig, and Colstoun, wi...

Who's Daniel Hoag?
Once in a while, I write a tune off a title I have been exposed to or think up before hand. This title came to me when I awoke this morning, as you do! "But who's Daniel Hoag", you may ask. Well, that's a good question well presented and no amount of water torture or bribery will get it out of me, m...

Hi, did you manage to check out my site, www.philamor.co.uk, as I haven't had a contact through that from you yet.
I have taken your MP3 and set it to score, so I would like you to check that.

I can hear this as a more flowing 9/8, anyone else get that vibe?

Aye, Graham, that's much better, the MP3. I'll do your MP3 on Celtic Pipes and let you see the finished score.
If you want to check out my website and contact me there, I'll be able to pass the score along, OK?
