Slow March-The Awakening

Post by Stu_Hig » Sat Jun 11, 2005 11:46 pm

Here's a slow march I wrote recently. It's somthing quite different as I wrote it on a guitar and then transcribed it on the pipes. I think it works well, but I'd like to know what you all think of it.

Well, I do like that Low G. Nice to see a Low G that makes a statement, intead of one that's just "passing through" a melody.

The more we compose out-of-the-box, the more we invigorate our music.

The thing about this tune is that I made the most of the mixolydian scale of the chanter. I was actually playing in mixolydian on my guitar and I thought there is no reason why this couldn't be done on the pipes. It took me away from the limitiations of the chanter so to speak.

Redo of BMW Code for Awakening

Post by castledangerous » Wed Jul 13, 2005 4:52 pm

I redid the code with ties etc so you can clearly see where the beat is in the tune. See if you like it.
