Pipe Major Noel Hill

Post by lazyfingers » Mon Mar 13, 2006 3:31 pm

This tune was composed by Steven Cairns of South Africa.

Pipe Major Noel Hill has been playing in South African Pipe bands for about 40years; (Benoni Comando`s, Light Horse Brigade, Rietfontein Comando`s as PM, and Wits Rifles (recently awarded as Best Bandsman)

In Feb 2006 I had the honour of PM Hill piping my bride down the aisle and then in the reception, (and at 72 years of age), playing a "mean" Athol Highlanders, Bonnie Dundee, Cock of the North and 100 Pipers.

Many a student has started piping under his ever watchful and patient tuition (myself included)

Ive attached the third variation of the compostion; it makes a good march :D
